Dance. Pain. Love. Life.

SO BY NOW you’ve heard of my going green-in-the-gills in the past few days, but Tuesday night was so exceptional that I barely felt ill at all. Dancing isn’t all time fun because the minutes spent whirling around can sometimes give you PAIN.. and I don’t like that.. besides I suppose everybody doesn’t. I’m no fan of giant bruises and I DON’T KNOW WHAT. But then again, when I come home later in the evening, after all the training and rehearsals with people who share with you the same space and energy, it kind of strikes a nerve in me and I realize that all that pain is worth the sweat anyway, at any day of  the week! Because really, it’s all about dancing  now or um, yea, dancing never. It’s that thing we can’t leave and have learned to love  even though it pains us.. but your love for it is greater than the sorrow for yourself.  :)

Ah, the perks and pains of growing up!

Have you guys watched Miley Cyrus’ music video “Can’t be Tamed?” :) Oh, dancing that with the UST Salinggawi Alumni was so much fun!

Too bad I don’t have a video of the dance show proper! But I do have a little video of us rehearsing like it’s one of those days again, and here in this vid, at the back was the present Salinggawi batch watching us. I need to become my flexible self again. Work on my extensions and lines. Plus, backwalk! Play the video below to watch the clip.

at the UST PE ANNEX. GADDD, I miss! No amount of sweat can ever express my love for this place! It’s still the same old rehearsal hall except the ceilings are new ones in replacement of the old. It’s truly unforgettable with LOTS of dance injuries to boot.  This is where I learned everything!

and the verdict:

The UST Salinggawi Alumni during the Accnenture Awards Night 2010. August 17,2010.

Thanks coach Ajjie Mandelabar for the choreo! Looking forward for more dance rackets in the near future! I really had so much fun because no matter how fickle or monumental we got, our creative playground for dancing just burst within us that it was like those times of the year again.

Ah, good ol’ times. :)

Cast: England Austine Alano, Dexter Raymundo, JP De la Cruz, Dol De Fiesta, Fe Poyaoan, Vanessa Cruz, and Sidney Antolin (me)

As dancers, we make our own costumes..furs, feathers, black ensemble, accessories, everything looking Miley to prep ourselves up for that night..

and of course, we do our own hair..

dancers makeup

and our own make-up..

and take pictures in betweens. :D

and take more pictures …candid ones. like this.

Kuya Ajjie snapped this when I didn’t want it happening! I was in the middle of applying my make-up!! HAHAH. But does my hair look very Miley here? :D

Me and Vanessa posing for the camera in our favorite dance pose, “The Scorpion Pose”, one move we learned in cheerleading. Having a few years break from cheerleading, MY BACK HURT doing this again!  Guys, if you think cheerleading is nothing more than looking pretty and shaking pom-poms, well, not quite. You need to  be strong, flexible and agile to learn a move or skill such as this.

And of course, with every dance racket=cash meal allowances!

So here’s us spending moolah for food. Because FOOD=ENERGY BOOSTERS FOR DANCERS!

At Wendy’s Edsa Shangrila before show proper. Dancers should eat healthy! SO we ordered shrimp/fish burgers to nomnom, cut on the fries,  and got ourselves ice teas. Absolutely zero sodas!

More photos of us at the dressing room:

These guys were also performing that night! I forgot their group name lol GOMEN. :D It was raining that day, I wore my Jessica rain boots!

and some solo shots!

I wasn’t sure whether to smile or not at this photo! Thus, the heinous face of awkwardness.

yes, a split.

I said I’ll try hard not to laugh, but I did! (Click on the picture to make it huge and stare at the photo until your eyes dissolve, lol)

My tiny fetal fingers are really tingly and numb as I type this. I have a mild sore throat ongoing strangling my neck with some sort of pain I can’t explain.

But YEAAAAAAAh. My mind feels in absolute amazing shape and all these dancing thoughts make me feel good somehow, which I kinda like.

These Fluffy Colorful Stuffs Called Cotton Candies Make My Day

I love cotton candies, it’s dreamy and ephemeral. :)
It is sweet, melts in your mouth and tickles your senses! <3

Did you know that you can make your own cotton candy? YES! I just found out that someone invented a little cotton candy machine some years ago, and it coaxes out actual sizes of cotton ball fluffs! It’s battery-operated and you can buy this from the toy store.

OH AT 22, I WOULDN’T MIND buying this at a toystore myself! :D

Hmmm I wonder if Toy Kingdom has it? lololol Anyway, I couldn’t believe there was such invention! THANKS TUMBLR for letting me know things I likely didn’t know. :)

have a lot of stories to tell you guys later! so stay put mkaay!

Sore Throats Can’t Stop Sidneyland From Blogging

Hello everyone! In the random few days I got explosively sick that it was hard to tell whether it was sore throat making my nose sore, or sore tonsils, giving me nose-litis! LOL! I would rather shove down my throat a coupla of Neozep, Bioflu, Vitamin C and Alerta in the same breath than have my lips anywhere near Bactidol please!!! It’s TOTAL KILLER!  I couldn’t believe how stressful my days went by but YEAAAH thank GOD I’m still alive! Take care you wonderful people!

And the culprit in betweens…

*drum rolls*

Kudos to all arts management students of CSB for making Kicks and Clicks Photography Workshop happen! It was some stunning dance photography you had it made last Saturday weekend! Guys, that photo you’re seeing was held at the CSB SDA grounds. They made me dance on the floor, playing with my emotions.. and I felt no pain, I felt no longer human!  All in all, I HAD FUN! And P.S.! CSB is soo huge, my eyes popped!

Now I’m having a million of exclamations again.. @_@

I like the fact that everyone who were part of the production was kind enough to accompany us from start to finish. Although I think they need a wee bit to improve with their line-up of make-up artist, over-all I believe it was a job well done.

…How come in college we never had this much awesomeness? In Phoootojournalism??  *tears*

Thank you BRY for inviting us! I enjoyed modelling for the crew as well as modeling with co-salinggawi dancers Vanessa Cruz and Paula Bautista.

Since it was my first to model for a dance photoshoot, I’m looking forward for a repeat performance! Everything felt like it was shooting dance concerts again, which I love. :)

Also: An exciting dance show with Salinggawi Alumni will be taking place tomorrow night at Edsa Shangri-la’s Isla Ballroom. SO yeah, watch us if you can. Hee :3 Remember the Miley Cyrus look I talked about last week? Well, THIS IS IT!

+

A VIOS carshow at World Trade Center on Thursday, August 19, 2010 in which I will be dancing with a few lovely chosen dancers as choreographed by sir Wilson of Whiplash.

Wish me luck!

I LOVE PHOTOSHOP..BUT NO, I DON’T DIGITALLY ENHANCE MY FEATURES!

I’m not some girl who hides behind the digital pixels of my computer screen. I do have a Photoshop. BUT I do not photoshop my pictures to look like someone near goddess or you know whatnot. Why would you people think I edit my face? I mean, if I had a big pimple pop, I won’t be a wee shy about posting it like what I did here, but most of the time I’d smooth it out or something(with photoshop tools. and tell me, which girl would put up an ugly photo of herself with inflammatory swelling of the skin anyway?) but it’s not like I have acne and I erased the whole patch away! I don’t edit my skin color, I’m not dark in person, I’m as fair as in my photos! I don’t make my nose look sharper or my eyes look bigger. But I do wear contact lenses. And like what I said, my features on the photos are exactly what I have in real life. The only thing I do is lighten up or add effects, but that’s it. And it’s not as if everybody else don’t edit their pictures!@_@

Click Here to see a personal photo gallery of me that I put up today. Most of them are unedited. You can tell which ones are edited anyway.

Just words.

SALT movie, Rolled Pizza, New Accessories And A Giant Bruise On The Knee

I love movies, it’s a good waste of time.  And when I viewed SALT, I was at the edge of my seat in amazement! In retrospect, I didn’t expect my lazy weekend to be that awesome since it was a usual day of date with this certain guy, hee :3 but once we had our tickets and got our fish and chips plus lemonteas ready, it was a movie date like no other. Especially with Angelina Jolie starring in it oh-so-lusciously. MY GAAD, always gorgeous..gorgeous.. and gorgeous! Super mom + super actress + super spy! In many ways, I truly admire her.

Moving on, the SALT movie got me stucked in the theater seats enough to hold my pee for about an hour at least, LOL. And if it can, it would literally blow my mind for the action and the thrill. Although  too tiny details were explained, you can figure it out by the end what’s going on. I SO LOVEEE HER ROLE as a SPY/ASSASSIN! This reminds me of  my Diablo days of playing and it’s uber awesome gameplay. So yeah, HANDS DOWN to the director and storymaker of this film, you guys did a great job enough to make feel like I was part of the action!

And P.S., Does any of you know if it has PART 2? For me, personally movies are lame when they leave you hanging!! NOT NICE at all! And I don’t suppose a movie should be cut up into heart-stopping slices of episodes. HAHAH. We all hate the feeling of “bitin”, or perhaps we don’t? XD

Pardon the exclamations, but all I really wanted to say is that you guys better watch this movie  and get a box of popcorn ready before watching Angelina on giant TV screen this week. I give this one a three thumbs up, (feet included) lol.

**

Today is apparently a no-rice day. So I’m having rolled pizza with vegetable stuffing, ham, and mozarella cheese. My cousin made it for me at home and I had a fun time watching her do it. It was super easy to make! I suggested to help out though, but she instead asked me to just watch. I DROOLED! It’s filling and healthy and it looked lovely.

Breakfast at work: Two fresh rolls of pizza paired with coffee. Did you know that homemade pizza is healthier than the ones bought from Shakey’s or Yellowcab? Less expensive also plus easy to do. Don’t ask me for a recipe, Google it, demmet. haha XD

Zoomed out 4X than the previous photo so you can have a full view of what’s on top of my side desk at work. Nearby my food, can you see the Dream Angels Heavenly lotion? I mentioned it a while back HERE.

Other stuffs here: Baby Bench Colonia in Jellybean, Victoria’s Secret’s “Berry Kiss” Lotion, Victoria’s Secret Garden “My Desire” Body Splash, a card reader, a coffee mug and rings!

And Mom has got me some new accessories that she bought from Quezon province last weekend which I can add to my jewelery box and wear at work. It’s perfect!

Most of my working clothes have solid colors so I was in need of layering them up with beady, sparkly accessories in colours.

Thanks Mom, you really went into my mind! :)

Did you know that the shell earrings are baked so that it would be soft enough to stick those gold butterflies in before dried off? I wonder how they bake it? What comes to mind is food however!! HAHAH. XD

And a photo of Miley Cyrus from her “Can’t Be Tamed” music video.

In a few days, I’ll be dancing for an event at Accenture with Salinggawi Alumni. And this is the exact look that I plan to pull-off for it!

However, all that practicing gave me this:

OH PAIN!!!! Got this last Sunday during our dance rehearsal.  It had a lot of hardcore floor works  and technical   stunts that can break your bones, hopefully mine didn’t, and instead got this.  I have this realization even before.. that when you dance, injuries are inevitable. It would be painful to you in many instances, but at the end of the day, you have nothing else to worry about because that kind of pain is fulfilling nonetheless and will keep you strong.

I sound like a saint, geez. XD I cover it up anyway by using Kokuryu cake powder. Works like magic. Hee :3

Frostings Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cupcakes

I’ve been on a magical quest for a great cupcake shop since ages. And with Frostings, I think I may have found the one! Been ogling over their deliciously-looking cupcakes for quite some time so finally I decided to stop in and grab a bite! Take a peek at what I bought last week:

A photo of Frostings’ Carrot Cupcake and Apple Pie! These cute cuppycakes are bought at the 3rd Level Trinoma near Landmark. Ate these 2 pieces in one sitting! Visit their website here!

Not really the most out worldly-looking cupcakes your eyes could ever meet, but once your tastebuds meet them every bite of these would taste like there’s butter cream inside from heaven! And I’m serious! It was simply scrumptious! :)

So maybe I did find my way to control myself and buy only just 2 of them all, but I must admit, each wonderful cake in a cup looked soo delicious and yummy that it was really hard to decide which one I like.

And as for the staff, they have a wonderful service; they would even suggest to you their best-tasting cakes so that you won’t have a hard time choosing which cupcake is which that you would buy.

I don’t look too happy here, I know. But this was a stolen shot so bear with the “bagong gising” face. HAHAH. And btw, huge thankyou to this certain lovable someone who took my pics. Heehee :3

When I get off the train tonight I will certainly be dropping by to purchase another cupcake! Hee. :3
