My Weekly Ukay Finds

It is no secret that I absolutely adore light-colored, dreamy dresses with florals and laces. But one that is of quality and a little less expensive than a hundred bucks isn’t always an easy find. So as a practical measure to save money, I’ve been frequenting the Ukay-Ukay shops lately. And LO AND BEHOLD! what I have found:

A very pretty, fit-for-a-princess type of off-shoulder dress in baby pink.

And also:

A purple and grey floral print blazer.

Beautiful? Check. High-quality? Double check. One of a kind. Infinite checks.

Both are LOVE.

**

I found the off-shoulder dress (first photo) one rainy night in an Ukay Ukay shop at Delta, Quezon City. The details are gorgeous! At that time, I knew: it would be a total miss if I resist my urge to buy what could be the cutest find that my eyes have ever laid on! And this was swimming in a sea of mixed old and new clothes (meaning the dress is hard to find) that if I buy just later and find them in zero availability I would totally be regretful myself.

So on that day itself, without guilt, I bought the dress!

And since I couldn’t be happier with just one, two was enough. The prices were relatively cheap at a very heartwarming 60 pesos for the dress and a good 230 php for the floral print blazer. Besides, a pretty find is always a good buy. There had better be at least one at the Ukay shops in Metro Manila, otherwise I’d stick to my favorite Forever 21 dresses and other whatnot brands. :3

**

On another note: I don’t stick to dreamy dress styles alone; I don’t think I have a style. :/ I need to get up and rummage through my closet in order to know and I DON’T KNOW WHY IS IT SO. All I know, however, is that I wear what I like to wear and it’s the usual. And even with wearing the most odd fashion pieces (ex. super high booties/spike heeled shoes/unusual jackets, et.al) in this conservative asian country, the Philippines, it’s just alright I guess. It doesn’t hurt to try to be in fashion so long as you’re happy and you feel good about what you’re wearing. When things start to hurt or get out of place, I bring my slippers or jacket, just in case. :]

On Curing Boredom, Sidneyland’s Room, and Photoshop Magic

Last week, in the office,  I did something out of boredom ((shh about my boss. hehs.)).  Hard to believe I had nothing else to do on a  busy Monday morning, but here it was, a little photoshop magic et voilà!

A flawed, but fun masterpiece.

Can you see the light butterfly texture? Do you like it? <3

It looks a little too weirded out, I know. But you can view the original, unedited photo right here to see for yourself and judge how the photo came out. Hee :3

I’ve always loved applying textures and adding layers to my photos because it adds depth and value to an ordinary image, which I like. It’s good for Photoshop beginners, and it helped me when I was just starting to learn PS. You can check out some photoshop texture tutorials online though.

Just make sure also the photo is not larger than the texture. :)

**

My workspace:

See what a little photoshop kiss can fix? All the layering and texture techniques were done in Adobe Photoshop Cs5!

**

These are the textures I used and they are all very pretty! Just click on the images and it’ll take you to the download site.

There are more light textures at Deviantart!

**

And when you get bored, open some Adobe Photoshop Cs5 and see what you can come up with your creative itch! I’m sure, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Laces: The Most Loveable Type Of Fabric Ever Brought Into A Working Girl’s Life

Every 5 in the afternoon when I get out of work to go home, I have to walk right past Forever 21. And it’s PAINFUL. I get to Megamall in 10 minutes only, when I want to shop for pretty little stuffs I can easily drop by at the place really fast. But all that shall end soon, having decided by the company where I’m working yesterday to move operations out of Ortigas to Global City ASAP. And there has been this LACY dress every time I walk by. SIGH.

Seeing as I really don’t need another dress (because I prolly have one too many in the closet already?) I’ve been trying really hard not to go in and buy it in it’s all gorgeous lacy glory. SO far I’ve been successful, thanks to the fact that I work and us moving out someplace in Makati starts really really soon. (Which is the only redeeming thing about working and stuff).

As I mentioned HERE before, I love laces. Whether it’s shown up in or out of the bedroom, this feminine, dainty, type of fabric is on every type of clothing and sometimes comes off in original and surprising ways. FOREVER 21 has a lot of those laces sewn into many types of fabrics. And guess what, when I saw those, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. T_T

Lacy dresses I have so far:

Genevieve Gozum | 850 Php

Get Laud! | 650 Php

Divisoria | 150 Php

And if you do happen to find and purchase that little lace dress (which I know are many anyway, LOL) from Forever 21 Philippines, let me know so I can live happily through your closet.

FFXIV Open Beta: I Shouldn’t Get Excited With Games This Epic.

When I learned that my brother has FFXIV installed on our computer, I got swept away. IMO, it was mind-blowing! As I was at his back and ogling at THAT GODLY THING that he was playing while sitting in front of the pc, my spirit was in utter wonderment. The current beta test is for pc users only of course, and that means we’re in luck!

Unfortunately, it will destroy the World of Warcraft (hehs) — the game is too damn good in beta. But even so, it has all the excitement that comes with a new game release, so expect to lose your patience count in waiting to play the awesomess that is Final Fantasy fourteen. I suppose it’s never gonna be only addictive, but simply awesome too.

Anyway, I’m a happy little kid! Enjoy some screenshots:

And do you think I would let my game-happy fingers go numb without playing it for long hours on end? :D

My First Pole Dancing Class

Hello guys!

It’s rare that I take a brain vacation this long even before I bought my own domain (sidneyland.com). However, in the past three days that’s exactly what happened. I was swamped with work, affected with this disease that caused me to cough and gurgle most of the time and it was totally gross and disgusting. But just being able to dance again was enough to get my pulse racing and my juices flowing, so I eagerly tried a new hobby: Pole Dancing. On my first try, I must say it was exceptionally beautiful. I had to do it slowly and prettily, though (as what my pole dancing teacher has told me in class, LOL).

Here’s some of my first pole dancing class photos with my friend, Vanessa, who also went with me to try the unlimited dance classes offered by Movement Dance Studio Philippines. (I am yet to attempt an advance pole move soon, so don’t expect much on these photos, please!)
