23, Palm Pre Plus, And Amazing Great Parents/Friends

I just got a year older!

I know I said I was going to get a Nikon D60 camera for my birthday, but this just won my heart.. I love Palm Pre Plus!

I know. The bear is as cute as anything. :3

The Palm Pre Plus may not be in the same league as the Apple Iphone 3Gs and the Blackberry Storm, but I find it wayyy cooler than those two. I’ve always wanted an Iphone but this wonder arrived early as a birthday gift from my Tito Boy (thanks uncle!) and of course I couldn’t thank him enough as I may only be one of the select few people who actually owns it in the Metro! I love it, srsly! Maybe it’s the magnificent touchscreen technology or the whopping 16 gig memory, but whatever it is, just one look and I wouldn’t have second thoughts about buying the Palm Pre Plus if it were sold in the Philippines. Ahhhh best.birthday.gift.ever. :]

Speaking of GIFTS — here are more goodies I got for my birthday!

I had the best birthday party ever! I’ve discovered everything I know about drinks so far makes me believe I’m less fun, but just because I drink little doesn’t mean I can’t be that someone who could mingle w/ a bunch of drunks and have a good time. And if you ask me how it went — it’s the phenomenon of amazing and awesome and my friends are seriously endless amusement! Quite frankly they are too many to mention, HAHAH but most of all…

..to my PARENTS!! — for being the best cooks in the whole entire world and for just being great support throughout my 23 years of life (sooo drama). Srsly, couldn’t do it w/o you folks! *kiss*kiss*

This is… LIFE. :)

P.S. I’m back, noticeably. And I would love to be able to tell stories again – believe me, very willingly! Of course, if ever am not around, you can find me on Twitter. I don’t tweet a lot, but I tweet when I can.

See you around!

Mental stamina, a loving mom and prayer vitamins

EXERCISE is a personal achievement and GUESS WHAT DEAR READER: I think I made it out alive!

Today marked the beginning of my working out again and it was nothing short of fun because I started out early and ended with a bang! Slimmer’s world gym still unfailingly makes me groove to basic workout routines from funky hiphop beats to major aerobics of dancing!

In retrospect, I thought things couldn’t get any better, but somehow I managed to get out of that sickly, grossly phase (despite being physically afraid of becoming the victim of traumatizing asthma and whathaveyounots). And just like the signal strength of my Smart cellular network on Myphone dual sim, I sneaked out through the bad current and came off with five bars!

But this all is possibly not permanent —  I should cultivate a chronic cupcake habit to keep up with it all I guess. And LOTS of prayers! And functional drinks like Kopiko’s brown coffee and Red Bull with royal jelly and ginseng! HAHAH. I’m a very CLEVER child. :3  And because I’m not making sense anymore perhaps it’s just right to say:I’m the world’s greatest!” and “I believe I can fly!” :] (I really have had bad blogging skills. XD gomen)

ALRIGHT! It’s times for PICTURES! Sorry for the bad pixels, they’re all shot with a VGA camera phone. I’m cheap. XD

and more..

OMG: I cleaned my room today (and keeping life beautiful, as usual)

Hello, people of the world! Did you do anything productive today? I cleaned my room in a majorly genius way and dandy~ed everything into one happy little island. It was LIFE-CHANGING. HAHAH. I couldn’t believe my frail lungs and limbs could do with the scrubby brushes and mists and dusts from the air, but there I was, cleaning out my room’s mess. But since the slightest irritant makes me allergic in an instant (READ: Asthma), I played it safe by asking organizing help from YAYA. In the end it was successfully neat, and finally, unboring. I just couldn’t do it without my YAYA; she’s a life-saver. :]

I did help piling up though, removing all the giant stuff out while listening to John Mayer’s concert CD’s (have you guys watched him here in manila? I so did not, which is a sad thing) and the latest HIPHOP beats. I needed to be inspired – or say, MOVED.

Say hello to Victor, my friend.

and to my clean closet.

and to the neat bed (well, at least for me. hehs)

WHAT I DID:

  • left my bookshelves untouched (but will get back to it)
  • changed the bedding with fresh sheets + blanket
  • gathered all the week’s worth of laundry
  • dusted dressers and drawers and desks
  • sweeped around and found old things
  • SHOWED it to my parents! LOL. I am a very clever child.
  • Decided to call it a day when fresh air could already seep in from my blinds. HAPPINESS.

This is my room, one of my old shots. I didn’t get a good photo of the actual cleaned up room this morning; I was busy with whatall and finished sprucing up by the time it was already dark. Sux, I know. bcoz I know also you were expecting. T_T

However, I’ll post actual photos LATER, maybe tomorrow, when there’s still sun to shine the space up.

And after ALL the hardwork.

I needed to reward myself with a royal, spicy tuyo pasta.

Glorifyingly YUM. Cousin Ate Anj made this for us whole family. Totally something else.  <3

P.S., next week: Check back here because I’ll be doing this!

A wall mosaic. This inspired me, I swear.

Slimmer’s World Grand Aero Fusion 2010

If there’s one exciting dance competition held every year, it surely isn’t the UAAP cheerdancing thing — it’s the Slimmer’s World Grand Aero Fusion. Why? Because for one thing, it’s participated by 13 branches around the country, including one center from southern Cebu (which is actually bigger compared to UAAP’s participants around the metro of 8 schools only) but I’m not really comparing — just saying. :D   The competition is that BIG.

Secondly, the odds of you winning this competition with your combination of aerobics and dancing is really  high yet one that will really challenge your might and skills. With a must-follow routine of the aerobics protocol (warm-ups, stretching, aero proper and cool down), I was challenged myself that even I couldn’t believe I have competed for 3 years already! And this year, ten branches battled it out at the Market! Market! activity center last September 10, 2010 to be hailed this year’s champion: Trafalgar, Sm City, Megamall, Pasig, Cebu, Legazpi, Adriatico, Alabang, Pasay Road and Caloocan. Imagine how big that scope is!

I, of course, repruhzent SM City!

Sadly, we didn’t win. But I’m happy to announce that partaking in this event has been worth it, nevertheless. Actually, I don’t think it was ever a competition – it was more of, say, an outlet for joy. Joy in its purest form that I really didn’t mind about the whole winning and accepting-a-defeat-thing, what mattered only was to be able to dance my heart out and share my talent with the world. Only that. And that only.

Anyhoo, the more important  thing is that we did our best and I danced with truly awesome people!  The friendship we built in that entire 2 months of blood, sweat and tears  for prepping up was a little unforgettable experience.  And we shall do better next time. Everybody took  aerodancing a notch higher and they all had nice choreography and were very synchronized with their steps. You must work together as a team… now that’s something we need to work on. For our battle on the dance floor next year. :D

Again, Congratulations to Slimmer’s World Legaspi for being the champion of this event!  Cebu for being the 1st runner-up and Greenhills as 2nd runner-up!

And thanks to my lovely parents and friends who was there to watch us, it was something I truly appreciate!

P.S. In retrospect, the UAAP cheerdance competition is another past life experience that I had, which for me has been truly awesome.  But I must say I enjoyed the dance competition within Slimmer’s World more. :)

Enjoy the photos and vids!

Also, I got interviewed by the media! They asked me how we prepared for the routine and what’s it like. I said it took us nearly 2 months of practice in preparation of our routine. And our dance was fused with hiphop, jazz, belly, and hi-lo workouts.
Me stretching on the floor before compet proper and smiling for the camera.

Hosted by Crystal and Slyde, together with Robert Barranda (Slimmers World Training Head)

As an opening number, the managers from the different centers of Slimmers World danced to Shakira’s Waca Waca led by Yen Lopena (2008 Slimmers World Miss Bikini Bodies and Manager of Face and Skin Clinic Alabang). This showcases to the audience the special aerobics concerts Slimmers World offers every month featuring an artists with the latest or greatest dance songs.

I will upload our dance competition video soon, so stay tuned!

Here’s what I learned:

  1. If one could readily have what he truly wanted, then life would be too easy. Too easy that everybody wins the competition.
  2. Joining dance competitions is completely awesome, but the stress in betweens, is total headache (and of massive proportions, mind you).
  3. If you will strain your physical self with stress for weeks, make sure you have the right skills.
  4. Skills such as having a functioning schedule of vitamin intakes, carbo-loading meals at many times of the day, loads of sleep, and weekend massage classes in your bed  to prevent your body from withering with wide black circles under the eyes and painful asthma attacks in the mix. (yeah, that complicated)
  5. There are wonders in power napping, anytime at anywhere. Get it when you can.
  6. The things you love to do never really drain your energy. You will always have the drive for it.
  7. That there are people out there who will really support you.  A loving family who’s got non-stop support!
  8. And even with zero wins, you get a bag of freebies: non-fat milk, Ellipse collogne, bottles of Colgate Plax and shaving stuff, HAHA. (these are our consolation prizes!)

MOM, IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY. AND HERE ARE THE REASONS WHY I LOVE YOU!

Mommy.

There’s so much to say about her.

But words aren’t enough, let alone the adjectives to describe.

All I know is that as plain and necessary as the air, she has always been there.

God is so good for letting me have her in this world. Even though I know I have been the brattest of the brats.

She’s compassionate, smart and beautiful in her own way.

She really works hard and is determined to do every endeavor she meets..

I guess that explains why she has always been the stage mother towards me and my siblings..

Whenever I would join any organization or get into dance competitions, she would always be there to support me.

But it seemed that I never realized that before..

I remember getting irritated when she pushes me to do things like this and that, because I somewhat feel shy with all the attention she was giving.

I remember her picking out what clothes best suit me, even if we’re not of the same taste.

I remember our heart-to-heart-talks.. I remember our occasional misunderstandings..

But now as I grow older, I realized that a mother’s love is truly priceless.

She gave me the “artsy” gene.. and has been the reason why I am encouraged to follow my dreams.

I don’t tell her about my love life though.. not that much. Not the details.

But, she knows when I am in love or not. She knows how to make my smile appear.

She lets me borrow her make-up, and lets me borrow her car (even though I didn’t pass my driving test XD)

She taught me how to love books, and read and read and read in endless repetitions of everyday..

She gives good advice and shares thousands of inside jokes..

She has never failed in teaching me the right things..

Because if not for those what would shape me into becoming who and what I am right now?

She has helped me achieve things I never thought that I could. And I appreciate it greatly..

She has helped me learn little things in life that makes it big.. a big difference that has inspired me in ways like never before..

She is exceptional and real and strong and flawed and human and she is a great important example for me..

And I guess at this point I can safely say I can’t thank her enough..

for being the cushion when I fall.. and for letting me enjoy the finest of what life may bring.

She is simply there.

Hey, MOM! If you’re reading this now, here’s me wishing you a very Happy Birthday. I know I may never say this all the time, but yeah. . . I DO, I DO REALLY LOVE YOU!!

Enjoy the finer things  in life and stay smexy forever!

Your loving daughter,

♥ siD

Would you believe?

  • She plays Farmtown!
  • She works out pound after pound of pain at the gym from Mondays to Fridays on the earliest of mornings.
  • And still would have all that time in the world to do laundy, and do her nails, and shop for clothes!
  • Of course, despite a busy daily routine, she still cooks awesome breakfast/lunch/dinner
  • She has a special name, Dolly
  • She is a Bacolod-born beauty
  • She dances like I do. (We love aerobics!)
